SpeechCode App 3.5 – now in the Play Store!

We know that there is nothing worse than an outdated technology. That’s why our development team is constantly working on making SpeechCode even more convenient, better and more secure. And we rely on internationally recognized partners, who are also constantly developing their technology.

Latest Text-to-Speech Technology

Nuance, our partner for Text-to-Speech (TTS) technology, launched Vocalizer 3.5. AI and improved algorithms provide a much more pleasant and natural speech melody.

A total of 56 languages in 114 voices are now available.
Newly added languages include Croatian, Ukrainian, Indian and Chinese languages, Vietnamese, Malay and Farsi.
All languages are available for free download in three quality levels (Compact, Plus, High) via the speechcode App 3.5.

Furthermore, the languages German, English, French, Italian and Spanish are “multilingual”.
This means, for example, that the German voice can reproduce English words and even sentences with the correct English pronunciation within a German text.

Scanner with AI

Manufacturers of Android devices use different hardware and controllers for their cameras.
This is a constant challenge for apps that use the camera function. Several cameras, new types of range detectors, different optics of different quality, etc. have to be considered, so that the app works on as many, even new devices as possible.

Therefore we have equipped our scanner for printed Speech Codes with a small AI:
During the first scan 9 different “scan strategies” are performed. The strategy that works best on this device will then be used first for all following scans. This way the speechcode App 3.5 “learns” to adjust to the specific conditions of your smartphone fully automatically.

Speech Links – fast & secure

Not only users of the speechcode App 3.5. can enjoy the new TTS.
Also our online speech links on websites and in e-brochures use the improved speech output.

With 1 – 3 seconds the speech output now starts much faster than before. Thanks to a new, faster server with 16-core multiprocessor. If it takes longer, it’s due to the receiver network! Even Speech Links, which contain several pages or last 30-40 minutes, start the read-out within seconds.

Furthermore, the new server offers a continuous https encryption, so even more security for your data.

Gimme the SpeechCode App 3.5!

For first installations you will find only the new App version in the Google Play Store anyway.
For all those who already had SpeechCode installed on their smartphone, the following applies: The Auto Update function installs the new version 3.5. immediately when you start the app. Of course only if you have an Internet connection!
You will then be prompted to delete the old voice packages.
Next you can install the new voices under “Menu/Load voice package”.

Each voice is available in 3 versions:

• Compact – is the fastest to install and requires the least amount of memory. There is no multilingualism and only a limited speech melody for the voice output. This is completely sufficient for product information or guidance systems,  i.e. for short, pure info texts.
• Plus – is the golden mean in terms of file size and quality of the speech output. For all those who have little patience and/or memory, or just want to listen to a text once.
• High – the luxury TTS! Multilingual, pleasant speech melody, natural, almost error-free pronunciation. This requires, depending on the language, 100 – 350 MB. For audio guides and newspaper articles, or for frequent use, however, highly recommended!
  

  The right language package for every purpose, because hearing instead of reading is simply super convenient!
